Ingredients glossary
Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) A woody Mediterranean herb steam-distilled into a potent essential oil. Stimulates blood circulation in the scalp to encourage hair growth, reduces hair fall, and clears product buildup. Also sharpens mental focus and relieves stress when used in aromatherapy. Must be diluted before topical use.
Batana Oil A wildcrafted oil extracted from the nut of the American palm tree, used for centuries by indigenous communities in Honduras. Deeply penetrates the hair shaft to repair damage, restore thickness, and encourage regrowth. Rich in natural fatty acids and antioxidants that rebuild brittle, thinning, or chemically treated hair from the root.
Moringa Oil Cold-pressed from the seeds of the Moringa oleifera tree, native to India. Packed with vitamins A and E, it strengthens each strand, seals moisture into the hair shaft, and nourishes a dry or irritated scalp. Lightweight and non-greasy with a long shelf life due to its high oleic acid content.
Almond Oil (Sweet Almond) Pressed from dried almond kernels. Rich in fatty acids, magnesium, and vitamin D. Softens and conditions the scalp, reduces flakiness, and improves overall hair texture with regular use. Lightweight enough to use as a daily treatment without weighing hair down.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol) A fat-soluble antioxidant that protects hair follicles from oxidative stress caused by pollution and sun exposure. Boosts moisture retention in the hair shaft, improves elasticity, and reduces breakage. Works synergistically with oils to extend their effectiveness.
Saffron (Kesar / Crocus Sativus) One of the rarest and most prized ingredients in Ayurvedic skincare. Contains crocin and safranal — compounds that visibly brighten the complexion, reduce melanin production, and revive dull or sun-damaged skin. The cornerstone of traditional Kumkumadi formulations.
Manjistha (Rubia Cordifolia) An Ayurvedic root herb known as the premier skin-purifying botanical in classical texts. Reduces pigmentation, post-acne marks, and blemishes by supporting lymphatic circulation and clearing toxins at the skin level. Used for centuries to achieve an even, clear complexion.
Licorice (Mulethi / Glycyrrhiza Glabra) A root extract with natural skin-lightening properties. Contains glabridin, which inhibits melanin synthesis without harsh bleaching effects. Soothes redness, calms inflammation, and gently evens out skin tone over time. Suitable for sensitive and reactive skin.
Sandalwood (Chandan / Santalum Album) One of the most sacred botanicals in Indian tradition. Has a cooling, anti-inflammatory effect on the skin — calms irritation, reduces redness, and helps heal blemishes. Naturally astringent, it tightens pores and leaves skin feeling smooth and balanced. Also carries a grounding, meditative aroma.
